Kathleen Thom, BCaBA
Hello, I am Katie. I grew up in Montana where I attended the University of Montana and graduated with a BA in psychology. After graduating in 2013, I made my way to Colorado to explore a new state (but mostly to ski). I first lived in Snowmass, to bring my dream of skiing every day to fruition and worked at the ski school teaching young children, but found I was missing a deeper purpose. In 2016, I moved to the front range and found a job posting at a behavioral health clinic in the Denver area. I loved working as an RBT and started taking courses toward my certification as an assistant behavior analyst. Between my courses and working full time, I found some time to travel to South and Central America and discovered another passion of mine: learning Spanish. From 2020-2022, I lived in Oaxaca, Mexico with my partner to hone my Spanish skills and experience life on the beach. After this amazing experience, we returned to Colorado to be with family and landed here in Glenwood Springs. I feel so lucky to have found my way to the Swann Clinic team and back into the field of applied behavior analysis. Our learners, their families and our team are some of the most amazing people I have met and have inspired me to return to school to earn my master’s in behavior analysis. I am excited to begin classes in May 2024 to work towards becoming a BCBA and continue learning how to best support our learners.
Windi P, Clinical Coordinator/RBT
I am the GWS clinical coordinator and one of the RBTs. I was born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley. I have gained more than four years of childhood experience with kids of all ages as I worked in school districts and charter schools as a teacher assistant across the Roaring Fork Valley. I would consider myself responsible, flexible, friendly and trustworthy. Aside from enjoying making new connections with kids I enjoy creating fun, engaging and educational activities for them. Outside of my job duties, I enjoy and love traveling the world and getting to know other cultures. I also enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and pets. I am very fortunate to be a part of the Swann Clinic team and to have the opportunity to work with your children.
Noah V, RBT/Trainer
Hello, my name is Noah. I am a trainer/registered behavior technician at Swann Clinic for behavioral health. My hometown is Aurora, Colorado. I moved up to the Roaring Fork Valley in the 7th grade. I graduated from Rifle High School. My goals are to travel the world and make myself proud of what I have accomplished. My professional goals are to get to a level where I am my own boss. This is my first year working with kids and I love how amazing it feels to see the impact I can make in children’s lives and how good it makes me feel. When I am not at work, I like to spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy playing video games or playing sports like basketball. I never imagined myself working with kids but now that I do, I would not have it any other way!
Aimee S, RBT
I am Aimee. I have been working with children of all ages and stages of development, for over 25 years. I have two boys of my own who are almost all men now. My oldest son just turned twenty and was diagnosed with ASD at the age of two. He is also my daily reminder that every single child has the potential to make a positive impact on this world and I hope that I can help guide our wonderful learners to find their path. I am originally from Philadelphia and have been a die-hard Eagles fan since sitting on Reggie White’s lap at the age of 8. When I am not watching football, I can be found in my workshop, building custom furniture, in the kitchen cooking, or outside tending to my gardens. I am always striving to learn and try new things. I am so excited to be a part of The Swann Clinic and continue my lifelong journey to continue to grow as a person. Learning never ends!
Hector A, RBT/ Trainee
Hey there, I am Hector. I am a registered Behavioral Technician, student, husband and lover of the outdoors committed to helping your kiddo learn new skills and achieve their goals. I find it difficult to pinpoint what you might want to know, so here are three things about me and my work.
1. I was born in Hidalgo del Parral in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. At six months old my parents took me to Texas where I resided until the age of seven. At eight, my family moved to Avon, Colorado where I spent my time snowboarding, learning how to cook and playing different sports. Wrestling is my favorite.
2. Due to COVID, I never walked on stage when I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in statistics at Brigham Young University of Idaho. I look forward to walking the stage when I graduate with a master’s in behavioral analysis to become a BCBA and a clinical counselor.
3. Since 2021, I have worked with children of all ages by implementing behavioral plans and working on skill-building goals at a clinic, their homes and community-based settings. In addition, I worked as a clinical supervisor for a year.
Stephanie L, RBT/Trainee
I came to Swann Clinic in October when my husband and dog, Zen and I moved back to Glenwood Springs from Durango, Colorado. The relocation was due to our house in Glenwood Springs and being tired after 10 years of renting and we wanted to be back in the valley. My educational background is I have a BA in behavioral science with a concentration in elementary education, a master’s in special education, and applied behavior analysis from ASU. My hours needed to take the Board exam for my BCBA were collected in Durango with the supervision of a BCBA from Timberline Behavioral Health. I consider myself a geek for anything regarding the field of behavior analysis. My experience is extensive ranging from a director of a preschool to my current position as an RBT and future supervisor with some other letters added to my credentials. When I am not studying for my exam or geeking out on all things ABA, I love being outside staying fit with mountain biking, skiing, running and anything with water involved. Part of my health regimen is swimming at the hot springs, which also helps with my self-care. One interesting fact I want to share is that I have lived and taught overseas in Wales for a year. I am excited to share my experience and knowledge with the team and learners at Swann Clinic for many years to come.
Katherine V, BT
Hi, my name is Katherine. I am a behavioral technician working here to get my RBT at Swann Clinic. I am truly grateful to be working with such amazing kids that come to our clinic. A few fun facts about me are that I love to paint, swim and play the piano. With experience working at hospitals and different clinics, it is in my nature to help others. My goal here is to expand my knowledge and lead our kids to a better future. Eventually, I would love to start college and pursue this passion for a long-term career.
Cody K, BT
My name is Cody. I am currently a Behavior Tech; however, I am working on getting my RBT certification. I have worked in the medical field for the last 10 years in various direct support positions as I have always enjoyed working face-to-face with our community. I am from Northwest Arkansas, a small town called Gateway, but have always loved the mountains and have spent the majority of my life in Colorado. Outside of work, I spend time with my wife and 2 kids at our home in Parachute. I enjoy spending my evenings working with my 3d printers designing miniatures for our family game nights.
